Flight Arrivals at Syracuse Hancock Airport

Arriving at a new airport, trying to find out what services are available and if there is free WiFi to connect can be somewhat overwhelming at times. On this page you’ll find some simple information to help you find your way through Syracuse Hancock International Airport. Before proceeding to the chosen means of transfer from the airport, please remember to collect your luggage from the baggage claim area.

WiFi at SYR Airport

The airport provides free WiFi access throughout the airport terminal. Launch the web browser to the WiFi splash page and accept the terms of service and the device should be connected. Alternatively connect to the WiFi “hancock_intl_airport” SSID.

Smoking at SYR Airport

Smoking at the airport is only allowed in designated smoking areas outside the airport terminal building.

Arrivals at SYR Airport

The terminal at the airport is one building divided into two terminals, Terminal A and Terminal B, one on each end with a main area in the middle. Arrivals are on the lower level.

ATMs at SYR Airport

An ATM/cash machine can be found in the public area of Terminal A.

Luggage Carts at SYR Airport

Luggage Carts are located in both Baggage Claim areas of the airport.

Water Bottle Filling Stations at SYR Airport

There are water bottle filling stations located in various locations around the terminal. On the arrival level it is found outside the restrooms in the main area.

Regional Aviation History Museum at SYR Airport

There is a small museum exhibition located behind the escalators on the first level in the Center Terminal.

Dining and Shopping at SYR Airport

There are few options on the airport’s landside when it comes to shopping or dining, but one or two establishments can be found. Airside however has various options for both.

Traveler Pick-ups at SYR Airport

The airport’s Cell Phone Waiting Lot is located only a couple of minutes from the terminal, at the Observation Area and it is free of charge to wait here, although vehicles may not be left unattended, and there is no time-limit to how long one can wait here. Once the traveler is ready for pick-up on the curbside outside the terminal they can let the greeter know and pick-up can take place a few minutes later.

It is prohibited to park on curbside outside the terminal, and it is recommended to not circle around due to environment and traffic congestions.

Transfers at SYR Airport

Rental Cars – The rental car companies at Syracuse Airport are located in the Main part of the terminal building, in between Terminal A and Terminal B.

Buses – There are no public transportation buses serving the airport, but Trailways and Amtrak have a total of two or three buses per day to transfer to the William F. Walsh Transportation Center where Greyhound, Flixbus, and more, depart from to other destinations. Local buses provided by Centro that frequent the Syracuse city area can also be found here.

Taxis – There is a taxi rank located outside each of the terminals, on the lower level. The journey to central Syracuse will take around 15 minutes and cost around $35. A taxi to the Transportation Center will take approximately 10 minutes and cost approximately $20. More information about taxis at Syracuse Airport.

Trains – The closest train station is the Amtrak station found at the William F. Walsh Transportation Center a few miles/kilometers away. Take one of the two or three daily bus departures going there or a taxi. More information about rail services near Syracuse Airport.

RideShares – Ride share companies are available as an option for transferring from the airport. Transfers are arranged through the rideshare company’s app. It is important to state which Terminal to be collected from.
