Flight Departures at Syracuse Hancock Airport

When it is time to depart from Syracuse Airport there are few things that might be good to know including where to park, how to transfer there, or if there are ATMs available. Remember to collect all travel belongings from the chosen means of transfer before proceeding to enter the airport terminal.

The Terminal at Syracuse Hancock Airport

The airport has a single terminal building divided into Terminal A and Terminal B with a Main Terminal area in between.

Check-in desks, as well as baggage claim, can be found on the lower level, while the departures area is on the upper level.

Parking at Syracuse Hancock Airport

There are two main options for parking at SYR Airport, the multi-story parking garage located right opposite the terminal building and the surface parking lot located a 5–minute walk from the terminal building.

Traveler Drop-offs at Syracuse Hancock Airport

It is prohibited to park on curbside outside the terminal building, but it is allowed to drop travelers off, as long as the vehicle is not left unattended and parked. The time the vehicle is standing still should be as short as possible.

Rental Cars – There are several car rental companies at Syracuse Airport. Their offices are located in the public main part of the terminal building, in between Terminals A and B. Follow the instructions given by the car rental agency in question on how and where to return the rented vehicle.

Buses – There are no direct bus transfers between downtown Syracuse and the airport, but Centro provides bus routes to the William F. Walsh Regional Transportation Center located in the area near Destiny USA and approximately halfway from downtown to the airport. From there Trailways as well as Amtrak provide a total of two to three departures per day to the airport.

The airport bus stop is located outside Terminal A.

The Regional Transportation Center is also where Flixbus, Greyhound and more arrive in Syracuse.

TaxisTaxis are available for transfer to Syracuse Airport from everywhere in Syracuse. Those traveling to the airport via the William F. Walsh Regional Transportation Center will find taxis outside the terminal. Taxis will drop off their customers outside the terminal of departure.

Trains – It is not possible to transfer to the airport by train, but there is an Amtrak station at the William F. Walsh Regional Transportation Center only a few mi/km from the airport. Ride Shares – Ride share companies are available for the transfer from Syracuse to the airport. These are booked through the company’s app. Travelers will be dropped off in front of their terminal of departure.

Hotel Shuttles – Hotels sometimes offer an airport shuttle service to their guests. These are arranged by the traveler directly with the hotel in question, some at an additional charge, others as a complimentary service to their guests. Travelers are dropped off outside their terminal of departure.
