Transfers to and from Syracuse Hancock Airport

Before arriving at or departing from an airport it is useful to have an idea about the options of transfer to or from said airport. When arriving at Syracuse Hancock International Airport there are a few options available, but before heading to the chosen option, please remember to retrieve your luggage from the baggage claim area. When departing from the airport please make sure all personal belongings come with you at every stage of the journey.

Transfers at Syracuse Airport

Rental Cars – There are several car rental companies at Syracuse Airport. Their offices can be found on the first level of the terminal building’s center, on the airside.

When returning a rented vehicle, please follow the instructions provided by the car rental company in question.

Buses – There is no direct bus transfer service between the airport and downtown Syracuse, but there are a few departures to the airport from the William F. Walsh Regional Transportation Center, as well as the other way around, provided by either Amtrak or Trailways.

From the Transportation Center there are options for the local bus system, Centro, to various locations within Syracuse.

Taxis – Taxi is the most convenient way to transfer from the airport to Syracuse for those not renting a vehicle. The journey to downtown Syracuse will cost around $40 and take around 115 minutes. Taxi is also a convenient way to transfer between the Transportation Center and the airport in the case there is no bus that fits the flight schedule.
